» Titan Quest: Ragnarok expansion released!
Nov 18, 2017 - 9:45 AM - by TheGeekRedneck
Holy crap! Talk about a surprise for the holidays!

THQNordic (who got the leftover properties after Iron Lore was dissolved and THQ went bankrupt) announced a renewed development on the original Titan Quest and it's expansion, Immortal Throne back in 2016. Those of us who love the game were treated to new graphical updates and tweaks, gameplay fixes, tweaked and fixed spells, and loads more including WORKING MULTIPLAYER years after the original Gamespy system went offline.

Well unbeknownst to me (and apparently lots of other fans), THQNordic have been working on a surprise! A BRAND NEW EXPANSION! Yesterday, Titan Quest: Ragnarok was released upon the land and it's going to be one hell of a great Christmas for a lot of us loyal fans of the game! A completely new expansion with a new landscape, new quests, new rewards, and more!

They're celebrating by discounting the expansion 25% off this weekend on Steam!

Yeah, this is a bit late. Apologies.

Anyway, the first game in the franchise came out in 2007, and woah nelly did everything change as a result. Four mainstream games, a handful of mobile games, countless comics, novels, and even an animated movie resulted. Love it, hate it, Mass Effect had a tremendous effect on RPG gaming, and how it could show us characters and worlds we'd never encountered before. Not to mention how the player could interact with them and change things based on those interactions and decisions.

» Sorce's E3 Round Up of The Best Stuff
Jun 12, 2017 - 2:55 AM - by Sorce
Seriously, I ain't posting all the trailers that got put out (and will be put out) for E3. Only the stuff I actually like, which coincidentally, is all the best stuff.

Forza 7

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Need For Speed: Payback

DragonBall FighterZ

God of War 4

Metro: Exodus

The Crew 2

Almost put in Anthem (Mass Effect, but Destiny) and Kingdom Hearts 3 (Here's a trailer, but the game won't be out until 2020!) but I didn't.

In honor of their 1 year anniversary, the game is having a free weekend across all platforms from the 26th of May to the 29th. If you haven't had a chance to get into this Battleborn-killer TF2 with butts Counter-Strike except cartoony game, then now's your chance!

Here is a link for you.

» Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Benchmark Trailer
Apr 29, 2017 - 7:13 AM - by Sorce
Having a trailer for a benchmark program is weird, right? It seems weird.

That said, it's a "trailer" only insofar as it's the video you'd see running the benchmark, but without all the benchmarky stuff. Perfect for those who want to see it but are on console, or don't think their computer can handle all the eye-candy that playing the game would allow.

It also showcases some of the sweet moves that the upcoming Red Mage and Samurai classes will have, in addition to new locations/enemies, outfits, and activities.

» Mass Effect: Andromeda Launch Trailer
Mar 12, 2017 - 7:57 PM - by Sorce
Because I'm nothing if not predictable, I'm posting the trailer that BioWare for their next game, Mass Effect: Andromeda. The game is being released in the US on the 21st, with a worldwide release on the 23rd.

While this is the fourth (main) game in the franchise, Andromeda is essentially a reboot, as it takes place in another galaxy 600 years after the events of Mass Effect 2. None of the main characters in the original trilogy will be present and while most of the species will be familiar, anyone that decides to make Andromeda their first foray shouldn't have an issue jumping right in and enjoying themselves.

» AMD Ryzen hits shelves 3-2-2017, pre-orders up now!
Feb 23, 2017 - 3:21 PM - by TheGeekRedneck
AMD has finally announced availability of it's new 'Ryzen' CPUs, and the way things are looking the Ryzen is set to thoroughly spank Intel not only clock for clock, but in pricing as well. As an 'old fart' geek, it makes me warm and fuzzy to see the return of an age with AMD can actually challenge Intel. This is something that really hasn't happened in at least TEN YEARS.

Much of the Ryzen lineup will start shipping on March 2nd with pricing that tops out at $499 for the highest end chips.

Will you be jumping to Team Red once Ryzen becomes widely available?
