I'm wondering what logic leads mobile phone manufacturers (*cough* Apple) to assume that, when someone jailbreaks or roots their phone, they are doing it for piratical purposes.
I rooted and ROMmed mine so I could get away from the bloated and not-really-that-pretty SenseUI. All of the apps on my phone are free (whether via the Android Market, or via Amazon Market's app-of-the-day feature). I'm sure there are people who root/jailbreak and pirate apps, but it can't be the majority ...

All the apps on my phone (running CyanogenMog 7.1) are either free or I bought them.

I just want my phone to have the "best" software with as little bloat as possible. If that means I have to root it, I will.
And yeah, all the apps on my phone are legit. When most of them are a one-time fee couple of bucks, I can usually scrounge that up if I really like the program. Most of them are free though, which is great.

What Sorce says in the first sentence is exactly why I rooted my Thunderbolt. SenseUI = bloat. Verizon crapware = bloat. Liquid Smooth 3.2 = not bloated.

I have a Steam Mobile invite if anyone's interested.
Yes, it is Steam on your smartphone, and it will allow you to purchase games for your account on it. As well as chat with your friends, mess with your wishlist, and all that stuff.

So, not only did I have an issue with UPS delivering my HP MicroServer correctly a couple of weeks ago (the 16th), Newegg still has yet to update me and today is the last day they can. Also, my Credit Union sent me checks via UPS Next Day Air Saver because they screwed up something. However, they are being sent to my apartment. I really hope the checks don't end up "misplaced" like the server was.

I figured that since the TV series "Chuck" just wrapped up, now would be a great time to start watching. So I'm about half-way through the first season, and it's pretty enjoyable.

Well, Newegg finally approved my claim & upgraded my shipping to overnight since it took them to long to get back to me on the claim. Also, Sunday my wife approved a new monitor purchase for me, once we have the money. She suggested a 23" Samsung LED backlight one. However, any monitor Costco has will require me to upgrade my video card since I don't know how well my Radeon HD6770 will run games at 1080p

Just got a 46" Samsung LCD. Ln46D550 or something like that. I know its the 550, not the 120hz 6000 series. I like allshare, nice to just hook up a nic cable and set up software, and go.
In Other news.

Sold my projector, htib, logitech Z5500s, and bought a 42" LG 42LK450... got lucky in the panel lottery and got an S-IPS panel. So nice to have a huge ass monitor/TV again.... gotta get a regular computer chair again though, this recliner sits too low for the new TV. First world problem?

The company I work for gave us a choice this Christmas. We could take a Kindle Touch for free, or a Kindle Fire for 50% off. I took the Fire. As soon as I opened it, I threw CyanogenMod 7 on. Now I have a tablet :-)

I didn't realize how sweet a tablet actually was until I started messing around with this one.
Also, 3 of my coworkers saw how awesome CM7 is on this thing and asked me to load it on their Fires as well. It now takes me 20 minutes to do it.

There was a Groupon a couple days ago for a basic home brewing kit from Midwest Supplies. It was basically 50% off the basic equipment -- $64 + shipping. I like beer so I bought it, and now I finalized the order. Hooray, beer! I will be making some in my basement in no time

Am really upset with my ISP. Got a new cable modem on the 2nd (after wasting 8 hours of PTO and the tech showing up half an hour after the end of my time window). Then the 4th & 6th the modem lost its connection and was trying to re-acquire the Down Stream signal again. All they have offered me so far is a whole $30 credit.

I just finished repairing the CPU fan on my laptop last night. It was a bitch to get apart(the whole top chassis), but I'll be damned if it was a breeze to get back together. So there was nothing left over. So it what came out, all went back in. lol

Origin is required to run ME3, regardless of purchased medium (online or DVD). That effing blows.
Also, I downloaded CinematicMod for Half-Life 2/Ep1/Ep2. Makes the game look spectacular, and makes Alyx Vance look like a total whore.

At least with SW:TOR you have an independant loader.

See, now I have a problem. I love Mass Effect, and I want ME3, and I will not get it from my Mexican uncle (I stopped talking to him when I bought a house, and will likely never talk to him again now that I have a kid). So I'm pretty much required to get Origin now

Uh, not really.
Origin is the authenticator, but if it's anything like every other game on Origin, you just need to log-in while you're running ME3 for a validation check (like the old EA Online), and that's it. Heck, you may not even need to have Origin running just to boot up ME3. I know that's what I did with Dead Space 2.

I'm gettin' kinda pissed at my EVGA GTX 560 'Balls of Steel' edition - I've been getting weird crashes that look suspiciously like bad video memory (corrupted blocks on screen, etc).
Weird thing is it works in games just dandy... I haven't ruled out driver instability though since this only seems to happen after serious youtube / video watching activity.

i updated to the beta driver on my GTX 275 before I installed the 560. I am also using the beta drivers on the 560, I can't say there was an increase in performance in Skyrim, only cause i haven't played it with the "stable" driver. lol But the thing is rock solid performer in TOR and skyrim so far.with all settings in the nVidia CP ramped to max including 32x CSAA. I'm testing right now to see what gets the most stable (not fastest) frame rates while not sacrificing quality. Don't care about balls to the wall performance, just want something that looks great, with not to much of a perfomance drop that i would notice it.
Skyrim with settings maxed I'm getting 65 - 85 FPS with Vsync on, which is confusing me, seeing as it's not supposed to go above my monitors refresh with vsync on. But a solid 45 - 60 FPS in TOR, and it looks F'ing awesome. can't wait to see it's performance in a PvP where i'll actually have alot of action in a confined area.

WTF???? The turbo'ed 4 cyl is one of the most awesome things about the RDX... it's peppier than most any 6 cyl I've ever seen. I wonder wtf they are thinking?
Mom's 08 RDX is still kickin' ass and takin' names... It's probably my favorite vehicle of late.

Yep, no balls. A small (1.6L) turbo 4-cylinder in the Civic would be excellent, and that doesn't even begin to describe how awesome a turbo diesel would be for efficiency. From one hybrid driver to the rest of the world - screw hybrids.

Not yet...the new heating and air conditioning for the house is a car payment in and of itself. Both cars are paid off right now, so we're making big home improvements before we get a new vehicle. It will be Julie's, though, because her 2-door Civic has proven impractical.
Also, not sure if I mentioned it, but my brother-in-law moved in with us. Now my garage and driveway are full of Hondas - two Civics, a 17" mower, a 21" mower, a snowblower, a 6500w generator, and an Element.
