Fixed the AC on my car, did some rust repair on it and the wife's van and also welded up the front bumper that was horribly done by the body shop it went to after its accident (before I got it).

That's the plan... well, not the ditching happiness part.

I now have two gaming worthy machines at my disposal:

- The NoxBox (which just got another upgrade in the form of the Asus TUF Z390 Pro Gaming)
- The HTPC which got my old Asus ROG Z370-G and continues to run an i7-8700K

The NoxBox has a GTX 2080 Super and the HTPC has a GTX 2070.

Man I would love that... But I doubt we could get any of the old crew to play. I was just telling Kylie (my soon to be stepdaughter) about HL2DM and how I used to pull tricks like killing people with toilets and putting trip mines in doorways right near the floor.
Those were some epic times and I really miss them!

Trying to find out why users keep getting locked out through Echange. My guess is that it is someone trying to hack us, but figuring that out is a PITA. Sadly, the IDS/IPS on our firewall sees OWA traffic as normal traffic too Sad

Anyone looking for an LGA1151 board? It's an Asus ROG Strix B360-I Gaming board... about a year old and probably less than 50 hours use (it was in the HTPC and packed up most of the last year due to the move to KY).

Mini-ITX, LGA1151 and works with 8th and 9th gen processors (So 8xxx, 9xxx, and derived LGA1151 chips)

Perfect condition, Includes retail box and all the accessories I can find...

3D printer is currently sitting on a folding TV dinner table thing. Printed a calibration piece to make sure I didn't fuck it up when I moved it, and it looks fine, so I'm ready to start printing things.

First up: I'm going to convert the side-mounted blower to a front-mounted 50mm fan. The blower moves a shit-ton of air, true, but it's really noisy. This unfortunately means that I have to get rid of the awesome velocity stacks on the 40mm Noctua extruder motor coolers, otherwise the 50mm fan won't fit. Probably going to have to do it in PETG so it's a little more heat-resistant than the PLA I normally print with ... and because it's indoors, ABS is probably not a great idea (though I might, since it's right next to a window).

I'm getting ready to move the desk in my office so I will have a larger area for the sensors for the Oculus Rift and better organization in general in here.
Reply

Figured out that the dual-monitor arm stand I bought doesn't fit on my desk.

The desk is both too thin (which isn't a dealbreaker, because then I'd just drill into it for the other mount bracket) but it's under an unmovable shelf that hangs over just a bit too far for the arms to do their thing. Solving that would mean carving a divot into the back of the desk and I have neither the tools or ability to do so.

So that's nice.

Dude, the heatsink is hilarious. Here's this Raspberry Pi, which is designed to be passively cooled, and it has the equivalent of a Noctua U14 on it. Also, I'll be printing the front panel with space for a 30mm fan, since one came with the Canakit set I bought.

The problem with using PETG is that it is stringy as hell and sucks at bridging, so there are all sorts of rough spots and such on the thing.

Just got done re-wiring my network/entertainment system, because I wanted to try and fix the various rat's nests that are all too present. Unfortunately I don't really have a place to hide wires, so the best I can do is ziptie stuff together.

Looks better, not great but better. Also took more effort than it looks like, which kinda sucks.

Gave Luna a bath. Now I'm printing this in black PETG. I'll need to wrap the ends of the duct in foil + kapton tape to keep it from melting. At some point I'm also going to print this because Mia saw fit to break the one in the kids' bathroom in half. Oh well.

Adam's going to be moving out soon, which means we'll be getting our fourth bedroom back. That means I can move our desks up into a proper office. I've already got some CAT6 up there, which is good, but I'm considering slapping some acoustic foam on the walls ... I'm also considering getting a new desk altogether because the one I have isn't all that great for streaming unless I block off one of my monitors almost completely.
