Fancy fancy.
Just got my latest purchase from Amazon, a couple of "graphic novels" (since calling them Trade Paperbacks is apparently passe now). First one is a comic version of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and the other is the comic lead-in to Arkham City.

Really addicted to plants vs. zombies on Android... it runs fantastic on my Moto Triumph... I just had to stop playing though because it ran my battery down. Pisser too, I just made it to the rooftop levels.

Just ran through most of Portal 2's co-op. Most, because my cousin and I stopped two levels from the end; he actually noticed what time it was and was all "oh man, I gotta get some sleep!"

Excited for Diablo III... first game I've been eager to play in a very, very long time. Judging by how much my little brother enjoyed playing Titan Quest co-op I'm sure he will be playing D3 with me. w00t!

Just found out Amazon has a pre-order bonus for Mass Effect 3. It's the same as the B&M stores (an assault rifle), but I didn't think I'd be getting anything. Origin's got a shotgun instead of the assault rifle, but I'd prefer to get my stuff on Amazon and actually get the physical items, not digital equivalents to physical items.

I've been thinking of pre-ordering still from Gamestop.

It was 51 degrees today, but tomorrow we're supposedly getting 5-8 inches of snow. I test-fired the snowblower ... took a little encouragement (guess that's what happens when the carb has been dry for almost a year), but it's running nice and strong.

Wishing I would get off my ass and put all this HD projector, HTIB, Logitech Z5500, and Moto Triumph up for sale. I think I'm going to use part of the money for an SSD and part to go towards a large-ish monitor / HDTV. I really miss my old 42" Westy as a computer monitor.

I don't follow football, but I see this Tim Tebow's name all over the place, especially from the "yay Jesus" crowd. What is it about this guy? Is he a particularly good player, or is it that he just found a great way to market himself? I mean, you can easily gain millions of fans if you bring supernatural beings into the picture ...

About to "chat" with Verizon. Added a 4th line to get my sister-in-law a new phone last night & of course they have to ship it. Asked to have it shipped to work and verified the address. Instead they are shipping it to my apartment and no one will be home. Given that UPS & FedEx like to leave packages w/o getting a signature, I'm not to happy. Really don't want to have to file a claim saying someone stole an iPhone 4S.

Well, I'd just link the Wikipedia page, but well...
Basically, he's a good boy son of a couple of devout believers (he was born in the Philippines while his parents were missionaries) that was the "star" QB for the Florida Gators back when he was in college. The Gators got a couple of BCS championships and he earned a Heisman during his tenure. Tebow is a supposed dual-threat because he's one of those Quarterbacks that can also sack up and run the ball himself. Religion's a big part of his life, he puts bible verses on the black stripes below his eyes, and prays before and after every game. He is definitely religious, and if it is an act, he's very good at it. I think he even goes with his father on missionary trips in the off-season (or at least did when he was in college).
As far as his professional career, he managed an 8-5 run during the regular season after the Broncos' main quarterback got hurt in their third straight loss at the beginning of the season. He's not a particularly good passer (his form is horrible) but has managed to get a fair amount of victories anyway thanks to the aforementioned dual-threat status. Personally, I don't think he's a very skilled QB, more like a TE that can throw the ball. Tebow has almost said as much, saying that in the off-season, he's going to work on his throwing.

An .htaccess to redirect every single http request to http://www.gamebeat.net/SOPA/ - with exclusions for the index.html in that subdirectory and the big ass image file linked in it.
A similar .htaccess was written for bbpix.com with exceptions for image files so they would still be served but no one could get to the actual uploader to upload anything new.
I briefly considered redirecting all image requests to an anti-SOPA one but figured that might piss people off... lol

Imgur did that yesterday You could see all the thumbnails, but that one anti-SOPA demotivator I threw on Facebook yesterday was what you got whenever you clicked an image.

I just got an email stating the FBI shutdown megaupload
Quote: The FBI shut down Thursday one of the world's most popular file-sharing websites, MegaUpload.com, and announced the arrest of four of the people behind it in a global crackdown against the suspected online pirates.

So, the front page still has the Anti-SOPA image, but a link directly to the messageboard still works.
I am way too excited about the upcoming RE movie and RE game. Plus, two more F&F movies down the road.

Not seeing that here - shouldn't be possible either since everything is as it was before.
I was going to surprise everyone by putting up the redesign I've been working on while the site was down. Unfortunately I discovered that I forgot to back it up during my last system douche.... yup. I was pissed...

I have this feeling that the government is just saying 'fuck it, we will do whatever we want' now... Sure, the Mega sites users had uploaded a fair bit of 'questionable material' but MegaUpload was just running a cyberlocker site... one of several that exist.
On the basis the US government used to shut down the Mega sites they could just as easily shut down any other host based on any of the content it has on it's servers. Theoretically YouTube could be shut down for the same thing - because someone has an AC/DC song in one of their videos and it's copyrighted.
Your web host could have it's servers siezed because some kid hosts documents that tell how to make a bomb. Or someone hosts an mp3 file...
Interesting times.

Exactly -- they saw the resistance to SOPA and PIPA and said "hey you guys, you know those things you were protesting didn't matter, right?" BAM, shut down Megaupload.
Watch Dropbox disappear next ...

It seems to specifically be http://www.gamebeat.com/forum/index.html that gets rerouted (at least on my machine) to the SOPA page.
Stupid CW showing Supernatural reruns instead of a new episode. They just got back from their winter break last week!
